You Will Feel Swept Away During This Musical Portrait of American Life

Founded in 1968, Theatre Under The Stars was created to serve the Greater Houston community through producing timeless classics and creating/developing new and innovative musical theatre. Based on E.L. Doctorow’s powerful book about immigrants and the fight for the American soul in the early 20th century, Theatre Under The Stars is proud to present “Ragtime” on Tuesday, April 16th!

“Ragtime” shows the intersection of three groups of people in the United States—African-Americans, upper-class suburbanites, and Eastern European immigrants—and the struggles each face as their worlds collide during this time. Featuring a Tony Award-winning score and book, “Ragtime” is set at a time when worlds and cultures are colliding on issues of race, class, gender equality, and politics.

Ragtime is directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge, who was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Direction for the 2009 Broadway revival of Ragtime. This ensemble musical looks at the past and, in it, we see our present and the opportunities for our future.

Tickets start at just $30 and may be purchased online via https://www.tuts.com, by calling 713-558-8887 or at The Hobby Center for the Performing Arts. We hope that you join us for this wonderful play!
